SRISD Parents and Staff, The health and welfare of our students and staff are top priority. In recent days, we have seen a spike in confirmed influenza cases, especially at our elementary campus. As of today, Thursday 1/18/18, we have 47 students, 8 staff out at elementary and 26 students, 0 staff out at JH/HS. Our elementary numbers continue to increase, while secondary remains steady. Due to this health concern, SRISD will be closed Friday (1/19) through Monday (1/22). Classes will resume next Tuesday at normal times. We feel having four consecutive days to clean and sanitize all facilities will help our cause. Germ Blast is a company that focuses on “deep cleaning” and sanitizing during flu outbreaks. We have contracted with them to come in and assist our custodial staff. The method is a 9-hour process for facilities and school buses. All before and after school activities, including home and away games, will be cancelled effective immediately until next Tuesday. We do not want the public to attend any events in our district during this time. No athletic practices will be held including youth sports association games/practices.In order for us to use this time to our advantage, we need your help.
